Secure hotel near city
We have stayed at the Chancellors a number of times, all our family had about 10/12 rooms in March 2010. we think that the 2 managers are perfect gentlemen ant the hotel is wonderful, relaxing and excellent value for money. We will be back!!
This is not a complaint, but the lad doing the lounge service on Sunday evening did not seemto know much about his job??
The room was good suited our needs just was a bit far out for our liking
This hotel is not very close to the center of the city, but is located in a very nice area, not very far to the Manchester University campus.I appreciated the silence inside and outside the hotel, staff is fairly helpful and food is OK.I recommend this hotel to those who are looking for a nice and quiet place to spend one or a few nights when visiting Manchester.
The manager of the Dining Room at breakfast time was extremely helpful in suggesting ways to get into Manchester by bus, giving me a printed map to aid me. He was cheerful and considerate; a pleasant change from many hotel staff in other hotels. The other member of staff who served me my breakfast was also very courteous and helpful. They ensured that I was well looked after.
Despite 'phoning Reception several times after I checked in at about 2230, there was no reply from the night-porter.
I thought the hotel was excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the breakfast was the best I have ever had, and that includes 5 star accommodation! I will definitely stay there again and thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a city break in a quiet and conveniently located hotel.
Clean, quiet and comfortable setting close to university accommodation blocks.
Convenience for visiting student offspring friendly welcome
I liked evry things
The food, and breakfasts in particular, is of a very high standard. Hotel staff are attentive and caring. I use this hotel regularly and find it difficult to fault for the price.
Good breakfast, clean room, plenty of parking and attentive staff
Very near university/student areas.
The staff were efficient. The hotel is in off the road, so you do not have the traffic noise. Very handy for visiting students in the University. Easy to get to from the motorway.
The hotel was very convenient for us to visit our daughter who is at Manchester university.
The double rooms were very small and seemed to be geared to a single night stay. As we stayed two nights space was at a premium.
The grounds at the back of the hotel are stunning, especially on a lovely sunny day. Also the food was very very good. We ordered a sun dried tomato bread sandwich with rib eye steak and caramelized onion with chips and onion rings. The sandwich was lovely, the chips were huge and lovely but the onion rings were massive and tasted amazing, the best onion rings I have ever had. Plus you get big portions. The staff serving food were very helpful and friendly.
We went to a football match and got back at 2110. We were starving but they stopped serving food at 2100. Other hotels I have stayed in serve basic foods like pre packed sandwiches and crisps 24/7. Had to eat biscuits we bought for the train journey. Then our TV cut out, along with the kettle, so we rang down to reception they said we be straight up. 15 minutes later the TV came back on but no apology or even a knock on the door.
